Do run, run, Ron

Much as I would like to see Jose Mourinho in charge at Prenton Park, I can't believe Tranmere have sacked Ronnie Moore.

What's he done wrong? I've mentioned before that losing out on the play-offs to Scunthorpe (with two minutes to go) was hardly a disgrace and that Moore had done well to get us so far with his collection of lower league/reserve team misfits.

Listen, Ronnie Moore is no managerial genius but, given the crap budget and rubbish club that we are, I don't know who Peter Johnson thinks is going to do any better. I've been a big fan of Hamper man for not pulling the rug under Rovers' feet financially, but I reckon he's put his neck on the block here. If he doesn't free up a few quid for whoever is our new manager, then his decision to sack a man who got us to 7th position for under a fiver will seem ridiculous.

I have heard via a friend of a friend that Rovers have been talking to Robbie Savage about something or other. I cannot imagine what interest either party has in each other. Maybe Birkenhead is binning the idea of a football club and is investing all its efforts in building a diving team.

Ronnie, you're better off out of it.

Trouble is Nige, most boards and fans believe their rightful place is the Prem - if only they could find the right manager. Suppose that's what being a football fan is about - mindless optimism.

By the way, agree with you about the Everton kit it's dire. As much fashion sense as Moysey.

It's a very odd decision. Can't fathom it at all. If he was always going to go, why give him this long? And if he wasn't, what can he have done wrong when nothing's going on? He had pedigree, experience and above all tradition. Sack the board. Or something equally reactionary.

Im outraged !!!! we sell our star player , get in a 31 year old has been from of all clubs Oldham !! and then sack the manager. Who or what do Tranmere think they are. I love this club and can honestly say that I have seen them through the thick and thin and have done all the stupid aways in Bornmouth on a Friday night etc ect but even my patience and loyalty is being pushed to the brink on this one. Who do they think they will get for no money and to have no money to spend and by the looks of what has happened , no ambition. Beggers belief. I know I will end up in Norwich on Tuesday next season and in Birkenhead on a freezing Friday night but if they are trying to attract more mugs then they are 110% going the wrong way about it.
